Personal Statement

I would rather have someone hate my art than walk by unaffected. I paint for the love and enjoyment of it, personally. I paint to grow. And I paint to affect others. My paintings come from a variety of inspirations. Some come from simply playing around until I, or someone else, sees something in the dabbling. Other times, the paintings are named before begun. And, when asked, I'll paint what someone else wants. I also dabble in photography a bit.

I've been painting since around 2001. I've never had formal training, but have studied with talented, experienced artists who have been invaluable in my technical learning and in finding my own style. I get frustrated at times, but find growth with each painting, whether it's my original concept or my interpretation of someone else's. All pieces shown here are original conceptually.
