7614 Ants Go Marching

Sliding scale

Many years ago I realized that technology would eventually catch up with my desires to be able to paint my photography or alter it into a more suitable manner that was more an art form, rather then just another photograph.
My favorite quote is by Vincent Van Gogh:
"How rich art is; if one can only remember what one has seen, one is never without food for thought or truly lonely, never alone."
This tell quite a bit about me as well, as I live a very poor financial life, partly out of my desire not to follow the norm of society, but to carve my own path in life. I believe that I am a true artist, as I see everything around me as fluid-moving-yet stationary-as a form of individual art.
WE are but small spots in time, grains of sand in a giant wheel in the universe, yet each has a place, a duty and a mission. We could all change the world for better, yet we all continue on our own paths-each in a different direction.
Chaos is a lack of order,a lack of direction-and man has lived in chaos for thousands of years, yet we still have structure and purpose.
Life is very interesting. Its my hope to live long enough to ride off into space-perhaps on a one way trip-to new worlds beyond our own.
Until then-Here I am..exploring and creating, sharing and evolving daily.

Born near the Hanford Atomic Works in Richland,WA in 1953.My father was an engineer and we moved around the USA and I lived in Alabama,Mississippi,California.Visited Georgia,Tennessee,Oklahoma and West Germany.
Degrees in Park Management and my AFA in Graphic Design. Now at 54-I am trying to find a job as a graphic designer or photographer.

Thanks so much for the gift. Indeed I do remember Peter Max! In my Junior year of high school, there was a poster for Library Week that had been done by him, & I think I even managed to get it when they were done with it. Sure wish I still had it! Loved his images though, & still do.

Well - - - I did actually have that old vinyl (I have a bit of a collection myself) run thru my head when I came up with the title. But truth be told, the picture was taken on Burnaby Mountain, as they call it, to the east of Vancouver BC, & the flowers were originally a similar color to what they ended up after all the alterations. Thanks for the welcome & kind words.

Word of mouth, networking with everyone we come in contact with. The bio explains it all. In order to exhibit in shows, museums and competitions, you have to enter, then put yourself physically at the exhibition/ show/ gallery etc., which takes lots of time, effort, expense over a long period. We spoke to hundreds at all of those venues. No easy out...

Hi Rob
I am looking for a publisher rather than single collectors. The most recent sales have been to three different collectors for $4800. to 5400.. The Limited Fine Art Editions sell up to approximately 1500. These pieces are considered "Statement Art", (for serious collectors and museums). I am soon introducing a series of more general public oils. You can see my personal website at: http://kallmannart.com/and some western art at http://www.waow.org/members/sig/KallmannKaren/KallmanKaren.shtml.

Incidently, thank you for your comments, before and now. And I do love a lot of your work. Some of the colors especially are spectacular.
