Personal Statement

I allow my work to grow and evolve upon the paper spontaneously. The forms that emerge are presented to the viewer to interpret freely. My personal interpretation and intention is as follows: The fluctuation of imagery as the viewer looks upon Dream Matter is the symbolic expression of the constant change within reality and the mental workings of the mind which hold the matrix of reality together. My intention for the viewer is to produce a visual field of imagery that will fluctuate during the viewing process bringing about a daydream-like effect. I have entitled my artistic style "Oneiric Realism."

April 2005-May 2005. Exhibited in a Showcase at the Plaza Arts Center in Healdsburg, California.
June 2006-July 2006. Exhibited in 2nd Showcase at the Plaza Arts Center.
Dream Matter 3 was on exhibit from November 3rd to December 4th, 2005 at The Sebastopol Center for the Arts in the juried show ?In the Abstract.?
June-July 2005. Exhibited in the ?Dream States?
juried show at The Caladan Gallery.
Dream Matter 7 was on exhibit from December 6th to January 9th, 2006 at the Sebastopol Center for the Arts in the Members Show.
A Dream Matter Miniature was awarded placement in The Miniatures at the Manor show, a benefit for the Plaza Arts Center, from 11/5 - 11/12, 2006.
Dream Matter was shown at Frame of Mind Gallery in Forestville, CA from August 1st to September 1st, 2007 in a joint show with Ken Berman.
Chosen as one of the 14 "Emerging Artists of 2007" by Direct Art Magazine. Dream Matter 20 was displayed at the Limner Gallery in New York and will appear in the Fall/Winter issue. Dream Matter 18 appeared in the Fall/Winter 2006 issue.
