Thank you so much for your comment. I did get influenced by cubisst work, especially that of Picasso, when I first started working. I have yet to define a style for myself however, and still paint and draw in the form of multiple personalities! I find some of your work very interesting. Do you exhibit often?
Looking at your colors makes me hungry to break out some paint as well. It's the kind of thing that I look at and say "Oh, I can do that," and I know that I really can't, but that doesn't stop me from wanting to try.
I have to agree taht if it is some serious issue, unless money is crowding your bank accout and you have no more room for it, put the Rebel on a shelf, and buy a new 35mm film camera,a newer Canon. You ought to be able to get a top end Canon film camera fairly cheap.Start shooting all the films you never played with, or thought about but avoided. Kodak IR, or High contrast Copy asa 32 in Black n White, thats a real interesting film. Fuji & Agfa film are great films to play with. Fuji excells at illustrating the green and blue color spectrums, and Agfa- the reds and browns as well as black colors in all the shades of gray. So-Use film as fast as you can afford to process it. I still have old film that needs to go to kodak, lol from 2 years ago. Its just fine as it ages in the dark. Dont quit-you have a passion-dont just follow any trend. I still have my pro Nikons loaded with film. Those that are still serious about photography-will still shoot film as an art form.Just take exceptional care of your slides and negatives. And if you are shooting-use slide film. Rob
I work with mostly a sony handcam today, though I own a fleet of Nikon film cameras,a pro F90S with MB12 motordrive,SB 28 flash, and 2 other back up Nikons, and 55 mm mirco-nikkor, 17mm,28-80mm,80-200mm,170-500m, 50 mm, auto bellows outfit for super macro..But they are presently collecting dust,as i wait for Nikon to catch up with Canon in its full frame digital race. Not to worry-you can still buy high end digital and film cameras. But todays high end almost surpass high end film.I will say that film still beats digital-though my photo teacher says nope-film is out. I will say that film in my view still outperforms digital by a mile-but its so darn pricey. I have shot over 9700 pictures in my Sony in 3 years,a majority are usable.Maybe 300 a trash.Vs film, so its a close race.Probably take far too many pictures as it is,lol.can never use em all,and I donate hundreds to hospitals, and create slide shows for free, that patients can view as they wait, I want to reach as many as I can-and its good karma. I have not entered the vast contest thing yet-far too busy and poor.I am running out of time, I can sense it. Film will fade away as chemicals become illegal to use. Digital will rule, but not today-its just handy, and environmentally safer than film. So-in our quest to save the world-one step at a time-kiss film goodbye over time. Confused yet? LOL...Yes-eventually digital will surpass film, maybe in 10 years. Glad you like my work. I enjoy yours also... Rob
