Personal Statement
|
There doesn't have to a be a purpose, a meaning, or logic. It's an expression, an idea, an escape. An inspiration that has taken form, a feeling captured in time, therapy for the sane, meditation for the ill. Art is what the author and viewer want and doesn't want it to be.

Biography

The names Sherrie. I have been drawing, doodling, creating, writing, imagining since before I can remember. I'll keep doing it for the rest of my life. I enjoy trying new things and re-experiencing the old. I spend most of my free time day dreaming and finding out how to do/fix things. As an artist I wouldn't say that I'm a natural born or self taught artist. I would say: I was born with the desire, curiosity, and imagination it takes. I've asked for help with basic things such as stretching canvas and how the different qualities of paper can affect my drawing. In school I learned about different mediums and techniques. No one tells you how to draw the circle, they just show you.

I took 2 studio art classes, 2 black and white photography, and 3 technical drawing (drafting) classes in high school. I started college studying advertising in the art direction.
