The building was built in the mid 1800's and shortly after purchased by the Robertson Sign company that manufacture tins, Band aid cases, cans, casings and signs for such giants as Coke Cola, Ever Ready batteries, Jack Daniels, General Tire, Sprite and one of the largest employers in the Springfield area.
To walk through this building is to step back in time, to a much simpler time where an era of quality workmanship can be easily seen, the crown moldings, the wood & marble floors, and doorways/transoms that lead into the many hallways and many offices located throughout the building.
The building sat dormant in the mid '90s until Center City Graphics & Marketing decided to make the building home to their business in August of 2008.
Having so much space to work with they decided to make it available to artists, photographers, painters, crafters, and musicians. Other services have expressed interest in the building as well, that we feel will compliment the needs of the current tenants, an accounting service, a recording studio, a retailer, and a massage therapist.
Today the building is "in-process" and it is the hopes of Center City Graphics & marketing to have the majority of the projects completed and tenants secured by early spring of 2009. In addition, the building will host weekly and monthly events open to the general public like... Art Fest'09, Christmas in July, Musica', Film Festival/premieres and Theatrical Shows, Farm Market and many other events.
