I have been a photographer since I was two years old. I always carried my broken brownie that my dad gave to me and copied his every move . He has been a photojournalist since he was a young man. I followed in my fathers footsteps but chose to do photography for pleasure rather than pay. My camera and I find beauty almost everywhere we look. Since joining 723, I find that I am looking at the world differently. When I was young, I took pictures that told a story from the journalistic point of view. In college, I took a few classes and learned the artistic side of photography. In my thirties, I found myself taking pictures to document the times of my life. I missed out on so much. Now, I feel that I have gone from being a self centered photographer to centering myself around my photography. I am taking the time to see my surroundings and noticing the beauty of my world. It was there all the time, I was just too busy to see it. Now I feel the desire to document it for all to see. Digital photography has made that possible. I have not strayed far from my home to accomplish this. Most of my pictures are taken in my backyard or in the park across the street. Beauty is everywhere. I wish everyone could see through my eyes for just one day. That would be one of the greatest gifts I could share. Since that is not possible, then I will use my camera as an extension of my eyes for all the world to see.

I live in Indianapolis and work as an echocardiographer in a childrens hospital. I absolutely love what I do. My dad was a photojournalist and my mother worked in health care. My life has been molded my both. I am the mother to several dogs and various other forms of wildlife.
