Personal Statement
I make art because it relaxes me, and allows me to become ?one? with my subject. If it?s landscape, I place myself there, if it?s a portrait, I make the person a part of me, like family. Out of all the mediums that I?ve worked with, charcoal has been the most gratifying. I draw portraits of anyone, of any age. helps in creating a more realistic portrait. I create portraits that seem to have life.
Even though my work is in black and white, when I look at my work I see life around me. I see different cultures and nationalities that allow me to detect or suggest color.
I have been considering educating those I come across bringing creative skills together in order to reveal personal and cultural identities that are hidden within the many underdeveloped artists that surround us.
