My name is Amber. I am currently enrolled in college to become an art teacher (one more year!). Besides teaching, I hope to become an accomplished artist. I'm currently trying to expand my horizons, meet new artists, and find new venues to display my art. I mainly work in acrylics, and pen and ink. From time to time I dabble with watercolors. I also write and publish my own comic book: Danse des Esprits (which is currently on hold due to school obligations). I have many more ideas for comics in my head...curious? feel free to ask!

yea, i know everyone's busy (i'm crazy to even attempt this) but i really have to get this off the ground. i'll try to find a date when most might be available, but i'm not banking on it. it will probably be after the holidays, but i thought i'd just put it out there so everyone is aware. have a safe and joyous holiday. keep me posted.

hi amber. hope all is well with you. i just wanted to find out your availability the next couple of weeks. i wanted to get together eith all the artists to get acquainted. i also wanted to present the spring exhibit and something that i'm planning end of january. it's easier for me to present it live than via internet. i believe you have my email: peawit2@aol.com, my cell: 781-626-0035, myspace.com/bombicatbagan. let me know either way - gabe

sent you an invite on myspace.

the project is a concept right now. i might have mentioned a shibari initiative that never took off. i still want to do something but i don't know what direction i'm going. between you, myself, and 723 artist, we'll come up with something. meanwhile, exhibit for this spring. btw, myspace is a goof (lack of a better word). it's my playground, but you'll know the stuff that count...

hi amber. are you still with me? just wanted to touch base and let you what's going on. got an idea of a project i'd like to coordinate with you and another artist on 723. this one's going to be on a later date. just say hey so i'll know if you're still there.

i feel you. i wish there were more than 24 hours in a day. then i might be able to get some sleep. i need to do something creative which is why i am embarking on this project which i hope you will be able to participate in, in any capacity (i.e. exhibit your work, which i would absolutely love to do; feed us with ideas and suggestions, etc.) feel free to contact me anytime. and thanks much for your responses. very much appreciated.
fyi: did you know (probably do) that the art of shibari actually evolved from ww2, when japanese soldiers mastered the skills of knot-tying and "bondage" to keep pow's from escaping? just a little tidbit...

Luck is not needed-your a natural artist...

Nov 21 2007, 3:59 am
i actually did some research on shibari a couple of years ago - the art of japanese bondage or knot-tying - because i was approached by someone who wanted me to photograph a series with this theme. it did not pan out however, because i moved up to new england and have lost touch with this person in new york. that's the reason i was drawn to these images. i have not seen them expressed in any medium other than photography. i would like to see more if you have any; if not, i would encourage you to continue creating similar images. it's a lost art, and your images reflect it in a very compelling style.
