Me

Cherry kissers

Hello all,

Thank you for taking a peek at my artwork. This will be the temporary hub for my paintings until the official website is completed. In the meantime, enjoy.

Any questions about the pieces please feel free to ask.

"My work is a culmination of emotion and the integrity of passion translated onto canvas. The flexibility of my interpretation is inspiring and I enjoy absorbing my audience's analysis and critique of each piece. When I work with faces and expressions, which are derived from photographs or my imagination, I realize that within each painting, a powerful declaration is cultivated.

I always utilize the eyes as the basis and foundation of my pieces. I only move forward once the canvas has developed a personality through the eyes. My portraits are eccentric and I enjoy using bold colors to accentuate the focal points and bring each painting to life. Some of my inspiration is drawn from the colorful works of Elizabeth Peyton. Her fun, contemporary masterpieces motivate me to look deeper into the realm of my artistic capabilities and treat each painting as a challenge and adventure.

I believe that a great painting is far more than simply capturing the qualities and details of the photos I work with. Rather, the "greatness" comes from the artistic energy that radiates from my imagination and passion and releases itself onto canvas. My goal is to continue sharing my artwork as opportunities arise to do so."

Victoria Ohanna creates portraits that provoke emotion and incite thought. At the age of eight, she held her first paintbrush and since then has dabbled with various mediums including watercolour, oil, pastel, and acrylics. Today, she has found her artistic niche primarily using oils and watercolour. Without any formal academic training, Victoria has been able to acquire a unique style and artistic voice by trial and error, and practice, practice, practice.

She has exhibited her work in New York and Miami and has also done live painting sessions in Miami. Having lived in New York, Miami, Philadelphia, and Maryland, and traveled overseas often, Victoria's worldliness and appreciation for culture has broadened her artistic boundaries yet she retains a contemporary influence in all of her artwork. The artist's motivation is limitless and her goal is to continue maturing artistically, develop stronger techniques, and inspire her audiences with her expressive portraits.
