She expresses emotion and mood through the eloquent suggestion of the human form in motion. The art of kung fu has enhanced her ability to communicate on canvas what happens energetically within the balance of the body and the universe. The source of her inspiration lies in her study of Hung Ga Kung Fu under the instruction, guidance and philosophy of Sifu Pedro C.Yee.
The artist says, "As a martial artist, it is only natural for me to grow in new dimensions and in turn become a more complete artist. Discovering, executing and embracing strength, hard and soft power, and the cultivation and manipulation of chi life energy, allows one to see a whole new dimension that has always existed. Rhythm, harmony and balance are elements of this art as well." Another catalyst for her creativity is music, which also relies on these key elements and imbues her art with a keen sense of design.
"Art is the door that opens up to a world of discoveries of self and of things unseen by all, but shared by many", she states. "When I step through the door, my purpose becomes to discover and express my thoughts, emotions, and ideas through the actual process itself. When viewing a succession of my paintings, you can see an evolution of a feeling -- something coming to a realization."
